Obituary


Teresa M. Zwahlen, of Winchendon and a former Wilmington resident for fifty years passed away peacefully October 25, 2018 following a period of declining health. She was 90 years of age. Teresa was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Zwahlen. Born in Watertown she was the daughter of the late Francis and Bridie (Madden) Maher.

Teresa worked for many years as a secretary prior to her retirement. Her life revolved around and was devoted to her family and her strong Catholic faith. She was an active parishioner of St. Dorothy Church in Wilmington for many years where she volunteered and taught CCD classes. However her greatest joy was her family and nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by those she loved.

She is survived by her loving sons; Robert Zwahlen and his wife Linda of Bourne, Richard Zwahlen and his wife Jean of Winchendon, and Ronald Zwahlen and his wife Debbe of Wilmington. She was the cherished grandmother of Peter, Nicole and Jackie Zwahlen, Erika Niles, Jason Menezes, Kathryn Fisher, Alyssa and Derek Zwahlen. She is also survived by ten loving great grandchildren. Sister of Francis Maher of Rockland, Thomas Maher of Clinton, CT and the late John Maher.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Monday, October 29th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Dorothy Church, Main St., Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
