CHELMSFORD—Barbara Ann (Brosnan) Regan, 72 years old, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died Sunday evening, December 11th, at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Daniel P. Regan, with whom she celebrated 46 years of marriage this year.
She was born in Lowell, on February 1, 1933, a daughter of the late James F. and Genevieve E. (Reynolds) Brosnan. She was a graduate of Lowell High School, and attended Boston University.
Mrs. Regan had been employed for over 15 years as the Secretary of the Math Department at University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and previously she had worked as a Clerk at the Registry of Probate for Middlesex County, in Cambridge. In between her two jobs she was a homemaker caring for her children.
She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, in North Chelmsford and held membership in the League of Catholic Women, the D’Youville Women’s Guild, and the Ladies of Saints Memorial Medical Center.
Surviving her besides her husband are two sons and a daughter-in-law: Daniel P. Regan, Jr, of Chelmsford; and James F. and Amy Regan, of Dunstable; a daughter and son-in-law: Maria and Norman Robillard, of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren: Stephanie and Brian Regan, and Genevieve and Regan Robillard; a sister: Genevieve Brosnan, of Chelmsford; a brother and sister-in-law: James and Teresa Brosnan, of Chelmsford; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Eleanor and Jim Ryan, of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday December 14th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. Her Funeral Mass to be offered Thursday, December 15th, at 10 AM at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CHURCH, North Chelmsford. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
