Lynna Jo Williams, 83, surrounded by her loving family, died Friday, October 19, 2018. She was the widow of James H. Williams Sr.
Born in Anaheim, California, she was the daughter of Frank and Lois (Daniel) Fox. She moved to Rhode Island in the early 50’s, first living in Smithfield and then Glocester, where she lived for 45 years.
Lynna worked as a Secretary at Worcester Textile Co. for many years, then became the Tax Collector and Administrative Assistant for the Harmony Fire District. She was a devoted full-time mom to her seven children. Lynna loved to bake for any occasion, especially during the holidays. Her cheesecake was loved by family and friends alike and was her most requested dessert. She also loved bowling and spending time with her family.
Lynna is survived by her devoted children and their spouses, Danise Davis (James), Kathe Plante (David), Cindy Gould (John), Carolann Nadeau (Randy), Michael Abbatematteo (Wendy), and Ellie Buxton (Skip). She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Toni Abbatematteo, James S. Davis, Jennifer Gervasio, Erik Davis, Jaclyn Plante, Ashley Plante, Victoria Plante, John Michael Gould, Steven Gould, James Gould, Mark Gould, Laura Gould Villanova, Randy Nadeau, Ben Abbatematteo, Amy Buxton Plante and Drew Buxton, and twelve great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son, David “Tony” Abbatematteo.
Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 27th at 2:00 pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 260 West Exchange Street, Providence, RI 02903.
