Obituary




SEBAGO- Dorothy Estella Douglas, age 93, passed away on Oct. 20, 2018 at Springbrook Center in

Westbrook.

She was born in Buxton on Jan. 11, 1925, the daughter of the late Arthur and Estella (Palmer) Leavitt and graduated from S.D. Hanson High School.

Over the years she worked as a telephone operator, a school secretary and substitute teacher, a cashier at Larry Simpson’s Store, a waitress, and most recently at Sylvania.

She will always be remembered for the enjoyment she had doing puzzles and word puzzles, coloring, crocheting, knitting, playing the piano, gardening, flowers, watching turkeys, deer and the occasional moose in her yard, and camping trips to Deboullie Pond. She will also be remembered as a loving mother to her son- Michael.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband- Kenneth Douglas who passed away on Sept. 22, 2000; and her brother- Raymond Leavitt who died in December of 1996.

Dorothy is survived by her son Michael Douglas of Sebago; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday Oct. 27, from 11 AM – 12 noon at the Sebago Center Community Church, 403 Bridgton Road, in Sebago, followed by a service at the church at noon. Burial will follow at Haley Cemetery in Sebago.
