HOLYOKE ~ Frederick W. “Fred” Tauscher, 93, of Holyoke, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on September 23, 1925, a beloved son of the late Walter L. and Elsie A. (Smolinsky) Tauscher. He was raised and schooled in Holyoke and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was employed as an Electrician for many years at the former Providence Hospital in Holyoke. Fred enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the South Hadley Sporting Club. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member for many years of the Bowling League at Providence Hospital. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend of over 45 years, Florence “Bunny” (Brulotte) Tauscher who was Called Home on July 7, 1995. He leaves his two loving daughters, June E. Tiner and her husband, George, of Chicopee and Carol A. Tauscher of Whately; his four cherished grandchildren, David M. Guy, Jr., Wade P. Guy and his wife, April, Gregory A. Tiner and his fiancée, Laura Laviolette, and Amanda L. Nash and her husband, David Nash, III; his nine cherished great-grandchildren, Isabella, Starly, Samuel, Sophia, Sage, Lacey, Brian, Jameson and Jacob; his dear sister, RaeEtta McElwey and her husband, Neil, of Holyoke; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Tauscher and Brulotte families. Besides his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his dear brothers and sisters, Robert Tauscher, Sr., Harold Tauscher, Sr., Shirley Miller and Charlotte Bryden. His relatives and friends are invited to Visiting Hours on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
