James C. Lynch, 68, of Mattapoisett died December 11, 2005 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a lengthy battle with heart disease.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Gaspar) Lynch.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late John C. and Julia A. (Harrington) Lynch, he lived in New Bedford before moving to Mattapoisett in 1983.
Mr. Lynch was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett where he served as a Eucharistic Minister.
He was formerly employed as yard foreman at Sturtevant & Hook for many years until his retirement.
Mr. Lynch was an avid golfer and a member and former executive director of the ParTee Golf Association for several years.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, travel and gardening.
Survivors include his wife; 2 loving sons, Mark Lynch, and his wife Erika, of Wallingford, CT and Scott Lynch, and his wife Amy, of Norwood, MA; a sister, Margaret M. Dixon of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren, Maureen, Matthew, James, Katherine, Julia and Brian; several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late John C. Lynch.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett Thursday, December 15th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church at 10 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday, December 14th from 4-8 PM.
Interment St. Anthony's Cemetery.
