Obituary

PORTER- Albert P. Biro, 81, passed away peacefully October 11, 2018.
He was born in Hadikfalya, Bukovina on October 1, 1937 to the late Ferenc Biro and Regina (Illés) Bi-ro. In his early childhood, during WWII, he and his family moved to Veménd, Hungary. In 1956 Al-bert escaped from communist Hungary and fled to a Yugoslavian refugee camp where he spent 2 years before making his way to Germany. In February 1958, he joined US Army while in Germany. Albert served five years in the military before retiring in February 1963. He became a naturalized United States citizen on March 25, 1963.
While stationed in Fort Devens, Ma, he met his wife Almira J. (Judge) Biro from Salem, Ma whom he spent 56 years with. They resided in Salem, Ma where they raised two sons, Albert P Biro Jr., Michael G. Biro and a daughter Nancy A. Biro.
Albert worked at Eastern Tool and Stamping in Saugus, Ma for 38 years. He started his career at the company as a floor sweeper and worked his way up to becoming a foreman. When he retired he moved to Porter, ME.
He was passionate about cooking, fishing, making maple syrup, blueberry picking, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching wrestling and soccer on TV. He also loved going back to Hungary to visit his family.
He is survived by his wife Almira J. (Judge) Biro in Porter, ME. His son Albert P. Biro Jr., his wife Na-dine (Tsaltas) Biro and granddaughter Kristen E. Biro of Peabody, Ma. His son Michael G Biro, his wife Kelley Biro and grandson Koby M Biro and step grandchildren Skylar and Cameron of Porter, Me. His daughter Nancy A (Biro) Strauss, her husband Stephen M Strauss and grandson Kyle Strauss of Billerica, MA and granddaughter Jennifer R Strauss of Bradley Beach, NJ.
A private service will be held at a later date.
