Mr. Richard H. Costello, a resident of Manchester, New Hampshire and beloved husband of Nancy (McGregor) Costello, passed away at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester on Monday evening, October 8, 2018 after complications from open heart surgery. He put up an amazing fight for three long weeks before losing the battle. Richard was 70 years young.
Born in Keene, New Hampshire, on April 24, 1948, he was the beloved son of the late Hugo D. and Marjorie (Blair) Costello. Richard was co-owner of Aable Telecom for many years and was well respected in the industry.
In his spare time, he enjoyed going out to breakfast and spending time with his grandchildren, traveling with his wife, and exploring New England. Richard’s top priority was always his family. Two of Richard’s greatest memories were flying in a B-17 Strategic Bomber with his grandson, the same plane his father flew in during World War II, and watching his granddaughter graduate high school. We will all dearly miss Dick, Ricky, Dad, and the title he was most proud of: Papa.
Besides his beloved wife Nancy, Richard is survived by his loving daughters: Brandy and her husband Chad Klotzle of San Diego, California and Erin and her husband Douglas Kane of Derry; sisters: Karen Flavin of Surrey, New Hampshire and Glenna Masi of Wilbraham; and grandchildren: Tess and Joseph Kane of Derry.
Richard’s family would like to give their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Catholic Medical Center for doing everything they could, medically and emotionally, for Richard and his family.
His funeral service will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 3 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
