Rita C. Choquette 68, of 167 Myette St. Woonsocket died Thursday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of Gilbert Choquette. Mrs. Choquette was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Joseph and Laura (Duhamel) Allard. Mrs Choquette was a life long city resident. She had worked for the former Collamati Supermarket as a cashier for fifteen years, and retired in 1990 from Little General Stores where she worked as a secretary in the main office for sixteen years. She was a member of the former St. Louis Chorale for thirty two years, she was also a member of the RI Society for the Blind.
Besides her husband she is survived by three sons Michael O. Choquette and Paul Choquette both of Woonsocket and David G. Choquette of Dayville, CT, two daughters Claire L. Staelen of N. Smithfield and Jacqueline Choquette of Woonsocket, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was also the sister of the late Omer and Edgar Allard.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home 99 Cumberland St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland.
