Obituary

LIMINGTON- Eva D. Pratt, 92 of Limington, passed away peacefully on September 30th at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a brief illness.

Eva was born in Westbrook on April 10, 1926, the daughter of William Aime Dame and Emelia Arsenault Dame. Eva married her childhood sweetheart, Stephen Pratt in 1947. They spent 37 wonderful years together.

Eva attended Westbrook Schools and enjoyed many class reunions. Over the years she held various jobs in the Westbrook area. Probably the one she was best known for and enjoyed was at Busy Bee Bakery; maybe that’s why she is so well known for her marvelous Whoopie pies!!!

Eva was a very social person. After her husband passed in 1984, she spent winters in St. Petersburg, Florida, and summers on Harmons Beach in Standish.

In Florida she enjoyed line dancing, bowling, shuffleboard and had many wonderful adventures.

She was an avid quilter along with many other crafts, that she enjoyed teaching to others. She acquired many ribbons for her crafts at the Florida State Fair.

More recently she enjoyed the Monday Senior Social with her friends at Steep Falls Library, having lunch and playing card games.

Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and watching the Red Sox!

Eva was predeceased by her husband Stephen, grandson Benjamin Howard, sister Cora Caron, and a brother William Aime Dame Jr.

She is survived by her son Stephen Pratt of Florida, daughters Luane Howard and husband Thomas of Portland, Elaine Brackett and husband Keith of Limington, with whom she resided. Survivors also include granddaughter Megan Howard and her partner Brian Leighton, great grandchildren, Colby, Abigail, and Owen.

Her favorite niece Paula Paul and husband Joe, of Steep Falls,

a sister Jean Watts of Florida, and many other nieces, nephews.

Her family would like to thank special friends, Cindy Wescott and Holly Gallant, for helping so much at this difficult time. Thank you is also extended to Aging Excellence, Hospice of Southern Maine, and the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

A Celebration of Eva’s life will be held on Friday October 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Fireside Inn & Suites, 81 Riverside St. Portland, ME.

Eva has requested that anyone attending her celebration of life please wear Red Sox or Patriots clothing, if you have it.
