Albina Forys passed away after a full and happy life on September 27, 2018. She is predeceased by her husband, Bronislaw Forys and survived by her son and daughter in-law, Michael and Susan Forys of Chicopee and her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Alan Nummy of Southampton, MA. Bea has four grandchildren, Benjamin Nummy and his wife Joanna of Winnetka IL, Katherine Plourde and her husband James of Brentwood TN, Brendan Forys of NYC and Sean Forys and his wife Nicole of Springfield MA. She also has seven great grandchildren and a large extended family. Bea graduated from Simmons College, Boston, earning a nursing degree which she used working at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, MD and then teaching nursing arts for 10 years at the Springfield Hospital School of Nursing. She later earned a Masters Degree in Education and an Advanced Graduate Degree in Secondary School Administration. During her 20 year tenure at Chicopee High School Bea taught science, was a guidance counselor and an Assistant Principal. She continued as a life long learner after moving to Florida for 36 years, taking classes at the local Cultural Center and enjoying her membership at the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club. Her passion was always needlework which she shared with her stitching group for over 30 years. We all miss her dearly. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 3rd from 4 to 7 pm at Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee, MA. A Celebration of Life service will follow on Thursday, October 4th at 11am at the funeral home. All are welcome. Burial will be private.
