Salem / Nahant: Mary L. (Kilfoyle) Cox age 73 of Salem and Nahant, died Monday evening at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late William T. Cox. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary (Shortell) Kilfoyle. She was a graduate of Salem High School and Regis College. Prior to her marriage in 1958 she taught elementary school in Danvers and Ipswich. Mrs. Cox was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Parish and the former St. Joseph Parish both of Salem as well as St. Thomas Aquinas Parish of Nahant.
She is survived by 2 sons: Thomas M. Cox of Tewksbury, William C. Cox and his wife Ann of Hanover, 3 daughters: Kathleen M. Cox of Savannah, GA, Eileen M. Feeney and her husband Bernard of Whitman, Louise A. Cox and her companion Bruce D. Hamilton of Danvers, a brother: Joseph D. Kilfoyle of Marblehead, 3 grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Matthew Cox and Colleen Feeney. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers: Dr. Thomas Kilfoyle and Dr. Richard Kilfoyle.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Saturday at 8:30 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., Salem [Rt. 114 / 1-A] followed by her funeral mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 248 Nahant Rd. at 10 am. Visiting hours: Friday 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nahant.
