LOWELL—Harold J. ‘Budgie’ Lantagne, 79 years old, a longtime resident of Lowell, died Tuesday evening, December 6th, at Saints Memorial Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Agnes (Flaherty) Lantagne, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage in November of this year.
He was born in East Chelmsford, on May 2, 1926, a son of the late George and Alice (Tighe) Lantagne, and was a graduate of the Chelmsford Public School System.
Mr. Lantagne served in the United States Navy during World War II. For over 25 years he had been employed as an Electrician by the New England Electric Company and previously had owned and operated his own service station.
He was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Parish, where he spent many years with the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Surviving him besides his wife are his four children and their spouses: Mary Ann and Stephen Kelley, of Newton; Marguerite and Michael Farley, of Lowell; Bryan J. Lantagne, of Lowell; and Lisa and Robert Klobucher, of Lowell; twelve grandchildren: Caroline Kelley Doucette; Bryce Kelley; Karianne Kelley; Juliann Kelley; Kristin Farley; Michael Farley, Jr.; Lisa Farley; Mary Farley; Robert Klobucher, III; Marguerite Klobucher; Theresa Klobucher and Bryan Klobucher; one great granddaughter: Victoria Farley; a brother: Raymond ‘Bussie’ Lantagne, of; also many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late: Rev. William F. Lantagne, OMI, Pauline Lantagne Kane, Veronica Lantagne, Alice Lantagne Murphy; George Lantagne, Margaret Lantagne Towle; Vincent Lantagne, Edward Lantagne; Gerald Lantagne, Claire Lantagne.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday, December 9th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. His Funeral Mass to be offered Saturday, December 10th, at 10 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
