Obituary

Edward Giusti, 85, of New Bedford died Tuesday December 6, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Ceasar and Catherine (Zanetti) Giusti, he had lived in New Bedford for most of his life. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School, where he was a member of the track team.

Mr. Giusti was formerly employed as a salesman for Giusti Baking Company until his retirement.

Mr. Giusti served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a recipient of the American Theater Campaign ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign ribbon and the World War II Victory medal.

He was a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Fairhaven.

Survivors include a brother, Joseph Giusti, and his wife Vera, of Dartmouth and Florida; a sister, Stella Allen, and her husband Robert, of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Angelina Giusti, Cherubino Giusti, and Eleanora Figazolo.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 10, 2005 at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday December 9, 2005 from 5-8 PM.
