Robert Ross Bartholomew a longtime Needham resident died on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Wingate at Needham. He was 82 years old. Mr. Bartholomew was a U.S. Navy, World War II veteran. He retired from the Boston Edison in 1981, where he worked as an electrical engineer for 30 years. He was worked for the Town of Wellesley as an electrical engineer for 8 years. Mr. Bartholomew was a longtime member of IEEE in Boston. He was a Past commander of the LT. Manson H. Carter VFW Post 2498 and American Legion Post #14. The beloved husband of the late Eleanor L (Springham), he was the loving father of Mary Lou and her husband Mark Sikorski of Woodbridge, VA, Dwight and his wife Carolyn Bartholomew of Dallas, TX and Philip and his wife Carol Bartholomew of Edmond, OK. Brother of John Bartholomew of AZ. Dear grandfather of Jennifer, Brian, James, Alicia, Robert and Kevin. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Sat. Dec. 10th at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Friday from. 5-8 PM.
