Winchendon—Michael R. Blash, 50, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005. Born in Worcester, he was a son of Edward G. and Hazel V. (Parker) Blash, Sr. He is survived by 4 sisters, Dorothy Loader of KY, Beverly and her husband David Clark of AZ, Carol and her husband Darryl Servideo of Worcester, and Joanne Lehr of MI; 3 brothers, Alvin Blash and his wife Mary Lou of CT, Edward Blash, Jr., and Debra of ME, and John Blash of Worcester; 20 nieces and nephews; 20 grandnieces and grandnephews; and a godchild, John Blash, Jr. A nephew, Robert Blash, predeceased him. Michael was very active in the Special Olympics where he earned many awards. He was also an advocate for the rights of the mentally challenged. Michael’s family wishes to thank all of Michael’s fellow residents and the devoted staff for their support and friendship.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec., 9, at 11 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Strategies, 2 Shaker Rd, Unit D221, Shirley, MA 01464.
