Frederick J. “Freddy” Lambert, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, December 4, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald with Rev. Donnie Wright and Rev. Cecil Burkett officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Monday evening.
Mr. Lambert was born March 30, 1928 in Convent, Louisiana to the late George and Mabel Kilburn Lambert. He moved to Fitzgerald in 1986 from New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Lambert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War Era, where he was a Helicopter and Blimp Mechanic. He was former owner/operator of Quick Auto Service in New Orleans, LA and retired as Head Mechanic for the Ben Hill County Road Department. Mr. Lambert was a member of the American Legion, a member of the Catholic faith and honorary member of Faith Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his wife: Norma Bowden Lambert of Fitzgerald; daughter: Alicia Culhane of Houma, LA; son: A.J. Lambert of New Orleans, LA; stepdaughter: Connie Turner of Fitzgerald; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Hazel Strain of Madisonville, LA, Marian Pritchard of Shidler, OK and Beverly Ferrello of Houston, TX; brother: Milton Lambert of Algiers, LA
