Obituary

James T. Mulvey 76, of Franklin passed away peacefully in his home after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia A. (Ingraham) (Cole) Mulvey.

Born January 16,1942 in Boston, Massachusetts the son of James K. Mulvey and Dorothy (Feeley) Mulvey,
he was a resident of Franklin since 2004.

James was raised in Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. He was a star athlete in high school and after graduating he devoted many years to playing and coaching baseball and football.

James was a member of the Local 550 Sprinkler Fitters Union for nearly 40 years, a job he absolutely loved doing providing fire protection installations to many New England businesses.

His greatest passion was his family, exuding pride in his children and grandchildren always supporting and encouraging them.

He was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and was a season ticket holder for many years. He spent many years being the practice catcher for the Boston Red Sox in the late 60's and 70's often saying he would have done this for free, as he enjoyed it so much!

James had a vast knowledge of all things sports and statistics.

When home he spent most of his free time playing with his puppy "Rosie",

He often said he got along best with animals and children!

He enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Cape Cod, dining out, reading books and sports sections of Boston newspapers always first and shared his love of Boston by providing tours and stories to all who accompanied him on his many drives in and out of Boston.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his biological son David F. Mulvey of Dedham, as well as his blended family consisting of Emily E. Brooks and her husband Geoff Brooks of Wrentham, Hillary J. Cole of Manchester, Connecticut, Jennifer (Davis) Cole of Franklin and his mother in law Janet M. Ingraham of Franklin.

He was the brother in law of David A. Ingraham of Ocala, Florida and Donald E. Ingraham of Plainville, Ma.

Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren Matthew James Mulvey and Megan Elizabeth Mulvey of Dedham, Ma. Geoffrey Parker Brooks and Lacey Janelle Brooks of Wrentham, Ma.
Amber Mercedes Cole and Sierra Rose Cole of Franklin, Ma.

He had a very loving relationship with Shane Sunday son of David and Allison Sunday of Cumberland Rhode Island. Loving him and sharing many special moments with him and thought of him as an adopted grandson.

He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Mulvey Powers.

He was the former husband of the late Virginia Bowes Mulvey and Elizabeth Wainwright Mulvey. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

His desire was to omit a wake and funeral and chose to donate his body to the Harvard Medical School with cremation to follow.

He always joked he wanted to "go to Harvard"
