Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Patricia A. “Pat” (Fagnant) Carrier, 80, a resident of Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing in Springfield and former resident of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, September 17, 2018. She was born in Chicopee on December 26, 1937, a beloved daughter of the late Armand J. and Sadie M. (Hough) Fagnant. She was raised in Chicopee and, at young age, went to work at National Blank Book. Later in her life, she had worked as a proof reader for many years at Deluxe Check in East Longmeadow. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and creative writing. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and was a member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Victor L. “Vic” Carrier who was Called Home on January 2, 2012. She leaves her four loving children, Deacon Roger A. Carrier and his wife, Carol, of North Granby, CT, James J. Carrier and his wife, Gail, of Chicopee, Elizabeth A. DeBeasi of Nashville, TN and Angela M. Leclerc and her husband, Mark, of Chicopee; her seven cherished grandchildren, Sarah Carrier Stough and her husband, David Stough, Amanda Carrier, James R. Carrier, Carla Ruiz and her husband, Aaron, Matthew DeBeasi, Nathan Leclerc and Calla Van Ryswood and her husband, Nate; her three cherished great-grandchildren, Emaline Stough, Eden Ruiz and Ronnie DeBeasi; her dear sister, Connie Campbell and her partner, Bill Palmer, of Hendersonville, NC; her dear brother, Ken Fagnant and his wife, Mary, of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Germaine Fagnant of Leominster, MA; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Carrier and Fagnant families. In addition to her beloved parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Ron Fagnant. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, September 21, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 7:45 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her committal service will follow the Mass in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family has suggested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter, 101A 1st Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451.
