SPRINGFIELD, Va. -- Jeanne Elizabeth (Kelsall) Ferguson of Louisiana, formerly of the New Bedford, Mass., area, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005. She was the widow of Robert Burgess Ferguson. They were married 61 years.
Born in Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Marsh Kelsall and Leslie May Robinson. She lived in Louisiana and moved to Virginia to be with her son after a hurricane.
She was known for her beauty, pioneering spirit and ability to weather any storm. She made a safe, happy home for her family on Guam, in Japan, the Panama Canal zone and the Bahamas, as well as in Louisiana, Long Island, Florida, Texas and Georgia as she accompanied her husband during his career.
Survivors include a son, Philip Ferguson, and his wife, Kathleen, of Springfield; two daughters, Leslye Federline and her husband, Dr. Michael Federline, of Mandeville, and Beth Safilian of Niwot, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and a grandson-in-law.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford
