Obituary

Lillian P. Gerber, 82 of Medford died Wednesday after a brief illness in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Medford, MA.

Born in Boston, she lived in Medford for the past 60 years and was the daughter of the late Mary (Landucci) and Angelo Zama. Lillian was the Office Manager in the Department of Public Works office in the City of Medford for 10 years and retired in 1987. After her retirement she volunteered at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and worked in Dr. C. Douglas Taylor’s Office. Lillian was the first woman to join the U.S. Marine Corps in 1944 and was discharged in 1945 as a Private First Class. She was a former teacher of ceramic and was an avid gardener. She also loved knitting and donated to Knitting Connections.

Devoted mother of Linda A. Gerber and Carla Gerber-Weintraub both of Medford. Loving grandmother of Rebekah Weintraub of Belmont. Sister of Doris Loschi of Peabody, and Ronald Zama of Washington.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a graveside service which will be held Saturday December 3 at 11 AM, in Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Rd., Medford.

Visiting hours have respectfully been omitted.
