Obituary

Westport – Robert Edward Ostreicher, 75, of Westport, died Thursday, November 24, 2005 at home after a brief illness. He was born in Boston, son of the late Harriet Grossman and Bernard Ostreicher, and had been a year round resident of Westport since the 1990’s where he had kept a summer home since the 1970’s.

He attended both Newton and Brookline schools and graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Maine at Orono in 1953. Mr. Ostreicher served his country in the United States Army Infantry from 1953 to 1963. He was the owner and president of the B.F. Ostreicher Advertising Agency in Boston from 1968 to 1993. He was also a member of the Mizpah-Faith Masonic Lodge in Cambridge. His hobbies included carpentry and boating and he entertained many with his piano playing. He volunteered for many years in area hospitals.

He is survived by 3 daughters: Karen Hendrickson of Duxbury, MA, Judith Heid of Vancouver, WA and Dorathy Harman of Fort Collins, CO; a son: Daniel Ostreicher of Medway, MA; a sister: Susan Bregman of York Village, ME; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter.

He was the brother of the late James Ostreicher.
