Obituary

CARTER F. RAYMOND, SR., age 85, of Rockland, died on Sunday, Nov. 27th at the South Shore Nursing Facility in Rockland of complications from Parkinson's Disease. Mr. Raymond was born in Boston and was raised and educated in Hingham. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the "SeaBees". In 1952 he moved to Cohasset where he lived until 1973 when he relocated to Marshfield. For many years, he owned and operated Carter F. Raymond Co., Inc., a boat hauling and transportation business, well known on the South Shore. He was a former member of the Hingham Yacht Club. After retiring from his business, he lived in Port St. Lucie, Florida until coming North to Rockland 3 years ago.

Husband of the late Alice W. (Magee) Raymond, he leaves his son, Carter F. "Skip" Raymond, Jr. of Rockland, and two daughters; Cathy F. Young of Rockland and Caren F. Barca of San Marcos, CA. He was the brother of Arthur M. Raymond and Barbara R. Plant both of Hingham. He Also leaves his two granddaughters; Deborah A Young and Sherry L. Young both of Rockland and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, Dec. 2nd at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.

Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Thursday evening from 6-9 PM.

The interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, South Weymouth.
