SYRACUSE, NY- Carol Anne Wasnick, 74, of Syracuse passed away peacefully Wednesday August 15th with her son and daughter-in-law by her side after a seven year battle with colon cancer.
She was born June 14, 1944, the only child of John and Pauline (Stevens) Wasnick. After many years working in the transportation industry, she retired from Associated Spring in 2010.
Carol’s passions included astrology, buying/selling antiques and watching hockey and Nascar. Many of her happiest days were spent taking the bus with friends twice a month to Turning Stone Casino where she could be found playing Bingo or at her favorite slot machine.
The last year of her life was spent in Maine, with her son and his family, where she enjoyed the ocean, fresh seafood, local lighthouses and trips to Oxford Casino.
She is survived by her son David, the apple of her eye, his wife, Chelsey of Scarborough, Maine and beloved grandchildren Elizabeth, Angela, Matthew, Zachary and Audrey; as well as great-granddaughter, Kalista.
A private celebration of her life will held with friends and family.
