Alexander J. Allen, otherwise known as “A.J,” of Mattapan was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 11, 1963. He passed away August 11, 2018. He was the son of Mary Lee Allen and Bishop Alexander Allen Senior. He was a Supervisor with Boston Public Works. He worked for the city for twenty years. He attended Wentworth Institute of Technology. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in 2004 and his Master’s degree in Business Management from Curry College in 2008. Mr. Allen was a member of the Red Knight Firefighter Motorcycle Group and was nicknamed Fifth Gear. Mr. Allen was a people’s person. He was hard working, ambitious and very progressive. He had a zest for life and a great sense of humor. Mr. Allen enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing golf, chess, traveling the world and playing guitar at The Faith Christian Church. Mr. Allen is survived by his loving wife, Dola Thelwell-Allen. His daughter Rita Broussard-Campbell and her husband Raphael Campbell. His parents Bishop Alexander Allen Sr. and Mary Lee Allen. Two siblings Myron Terrance and Angela Allen. Four Grandchildren: Jakhari, Jasean, Jayden and Jordan. He is also survived by godchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces too numerous to mention. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 25, 2018 at Faith Christian Church located at 301 Harvard Street, Dorchester Massachusetts 02124. Viewing at the church from 9 am until 10 am. Funeral Service to begin at 10 am. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery. Repast immediately following at Parkway United Methodist Church located at 158 Blue Hills Parkway, Milton, Massachusetts 02186.
