Obituary

WORCESTER___Joseph J. “Joe” Wales, 62, of Worcester died Saturday, November 26, in St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves his wife, Gloria (Eglauf) Wales; two sons, Dan Wales and his wife Sara of Millbury, and Jim Wales of Worcester; two grandchildren, Joshua J. Cullen-Wales of Worcester and Haley D. Wales of Millbury; two brothers, John Wales of New York, NY, and Edward Wales of Spencer; and his faithful dog “Hooch”. A son, Joseph J. Wales of Worcester died in 1980. He is also predeceased by a brother Bernard Wales of New York. He was born in New York, NY, son of John and Mildred (Calhoun) Wales and lived in Worcester since 1975.
Mr. Wales was a facilities engineer for Guaranty Management of Worcester. Joe was active with the Boy Scouts of America, Mohegan Council as a Cub leader and Scout leader of Troop 63 and Troop 42 for a total of ten years. He was co-founder of the “Minor League at Greenwood Park” and was involved with activities and fund raising with the CYC of St. Catherine of Sweden Parish.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 30, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 1 Wiser Ave. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors’ choice.
