John E. "Jack" Donaghey, age 75, of Stoneham, formerly of Woburn, passed away November 26th. He was the beloved husband for 49 years of Grace (McDonald). Born in Woburn he was the son of the late Eleanor (Flavin) and Arthur Donaghey Sr.
Mr. Donaghey served as the Fund Administrator for the Operating Engineers Union, Local 4 trust funds. Working for the union for close to thirty years, He retired in 1996. Prior to his work with the union. John was a Vice President with the former Old Colony Trust of Boston. John also served as a First Lieutenant with National Guard for twenty years.
John loved spending time over the years at his second home in Meredith, NH where he enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife Grace, John is survived by his children, Patrice Minton and her husband Stephen of Andover, Ellen Donaghey of Jamaica Plain, John Donaghey and his wife Catherine of Mill Valley, CA. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren and best friends, Conor Donaghey, John and Elizabeth Minton. He is predeceased by his brothers, Arthur Donaghey Jr. and Alan Donaghey.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to the Alzheimer's Assoc., MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St., Woburn Wednesday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
