Margaret Elizabeth (Canning) Holbrook, of Winchester, died November 24, 2005 at the Concord Health Care Center after a lengthy illness. She was 92 years of age. Born in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Foster) Canning.
Elizabeth (as she was commonly called) and her late husband Arnold P. Holbrook, made their residence in Winchester since 1939. She was a Nurses Aide at Winchester Hospital and was active in the Winchester community as a member of the Jenks Senior Center. She took pleasure in painting as a hobby and enjoyed painting classes at the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Treen of Winchester and her grandchildren Emily Holbrook Treen and David Treen. She was also the sister of the late James F. Canning, Gladys Richmond and Ruth Jenks.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Tuesday, November 29th at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours on Monday from 4-7 PM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery,Winchester. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 36 Cameron Ave.,Cambridge, MA 02140.
