Jean M. Farnell, 65, of Derry, NH died Monday November 21, 2005 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Derry. Jean was born in Jamaica Plain, MA on September 20, 1940 a daughter of the late James L. and Lillian (Steele) Hegarty. She had resided in Derry since 1986, formerly living in Somerville, MA. Jean retired in 1992 from Digital Equipment of Andover, MA where she had worked for 20 years. She was also elected to St. Catherine’s School Board in Somerville. As well as being an avid Red Sox fan, Jean loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, David C. Farnell and his wife Kristen of Derry, her daughter, Jean M. Schmidt and her fiancé Michael Tabor of Derry, five grandchildren, Justin Tabor, Charlie Schmidt, Briana Schmidt, Kellsie Farnell and Patrick Farnell. She also leaves several nieces and cousins.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday November 23rd in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry from 6 – 8pm with a funeral service at 8:00pm.
