SPENCER: Robert R. "Red" Bourdon,76, of 16 Spring St., died Saturday
surrounded by his family in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a brief
illness.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Jeannette L. (Pontbriand) Bourdon, two
daughters Donna A. and her husband Kevin J. Ledoux of No.Brookfield, and
Denise B. and her husband Paul R. Robertson, Jr. of Spencer, four grand
children Kevin R. and Nicole M. Ledoux both of Medford, Ashley G. and Elyse
M. Robertson both of Spencer and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bourdon was a truck driver for 29 years at Red Star Express in
Shrewsbury before retiring in 1990, he then has worked at The Big Y
Supermarket in Spencer for the past 10 years. He was a member of the
Teamsters Local 170-Worcester. He was a member of St. Mary's Church where he
was a collector and usher for many years. A Fourth Degree member of the
Leicester Knights of Columbus # 4528 and past Navigator, and Third Degree
member of the Knights of Columbus # 118 in Spencer, the American Legion Post
138 in Spencer, the Good & Happy SAMS as well as NAFCA.
He was a Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He enjoyed camping and
woodworking.
Born in Ware, he was the son of Arthur S. and Rose Alma (Provost) Bourdon.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON
FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's
Church, 60 Maple St., Spencer. Burial will follow with Military Honors in
Mary,Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Monday from 4
to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary,Queen of the
Rosary Memorial Fund, 60 Maple St., Spencer or the American Cancer Society,
30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
