Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church (formerly St. Edward) at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 pm. Donations in John’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
Obituary
Mr. Donahue died Saturday evening at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the husband for 59 years of Angelina F. (Zeoli) Donahue. He was born in Bridgewater a son of the late Daniel and Bernice (Treadway) Donahue. He had been a resident of Brockton for most of his life and was a graduate of Brockton High School. He also had attended Wentworth Institute. During WW II he served in the US Army Air Force as a radio operator in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Donahue retired as a tool and die maker at the George Knight Company in Brockton after over 50 years of service.
He had a wood working shop at his home where he enjoyed making furniture and large and small projects. He enjoyed golf and had been a member at the Wedgewood Country Club in Brockton and Cranberry Valley in Harwich. He had enjoyed his time at his summer home in Harwich.
Mr. Donahue had been a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Seville Council in Brockton.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Patricia A. Pagani of Brockton, 4 grandchildren, one brother Richard Donahue of Riverside, RI and many nieces and nephews
He was the father of the late Paula Ciasullo and brother of the late Irene Shearing, Bernice DiBona and Robert Donahue.
