Obituary

DUDLEY – E. Virginia (Paranto) Devlin, 89, of 1 Mill Street, died Friday, Nov. 18, in Lanessa Extended Care Facility.

She leaves her husband of 65 years, Edward J. Devlin; a son, Mark E. Devlin and his wife Jane A. of Dudley; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred. H. Parenteau, Jr., and by her two sisters, M. Elizabeth Boothroyd and Katherine Looney.

She was born in Dudley, the second child of Fred H. and Mary (McNamara) Paranto, Sr., and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Bartlett High School and completed further studies at the Bay Path Institute in Springfield.

Mrs. Devlin was a secretary at Nichols College and then the receptionist for many years at Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster, retiring in 1983.

She was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Church.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 28, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family suggests donations be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church Memorial Fund, 24 Dudley Hill Road, PO Box 277, Dudley, MA 01571-0277. Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, Webster, is directing the arrangements.
