Obituary

Auburn, ME – Manuel W. Souza, Jr., 77, of Arcadia, FL formerly of Tiverton, RI died Thursday, November 17, 2005. He was the husband of Dorothy C. (Lewis) Souza.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Manuel B. and Paula (Eckardt) Souza, and had resided in Tiverton, RI prior to moving to Arcadia, FL 35 years ago. Mr. Souza was a Communicant of St. Madeline Sophie Church, Tiverton. He was a millwright for the carpenters union Local 1305 in Fall River and Local 1000 in Florida. Prior to moving to Florida he worked for his family business of Mannie and Sons Service Station on Stafford Rd., Tiverton. He also served as an auxiliary police officer for the Town of Tiverton and also as a volunteer firefighter for the First East Tiverton Fire Department. He was a member of the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club.

Including his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Nancy C. Willett of Tiverton and Elizabeth A. Boone of Memphis, TN; a sister: Paula P. Peloso of Tiverton; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Ronald “Pete” Souza.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, November 22, 2005 from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport at 7:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Madeline Sophie Church, Tiverton at 9:00 A.M.

Calling hours Monday 5 – 8 P.M.

Interment will be in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
