Obituary

WORCESTER-Helen A. (Mulstay) Hanlan, 85, formerly of 7 Patch Reservoir Drive died Friday, November 18th in Clark Manor Nursing Home. Her husband Thomas F. Hanlan died in 1989. She leaves 3 sons; John and his wife Donna Noreika of South Deerfield, Tyrone and his wife Andrea Hanlan of South Boston and Daniel and his wife Elizabeth Hanlan of Paxton, 2 daughters; Christine wife of William Savage of Worcester and Mauvreen Ackley of South Dennis, a sister; Mary Reid of Leicester, 10 grandchildren, John and Christopher Noreika, Matthew and Patrick Savage, Kara, Ryan, Thomas and Katy Hanlan, Wendy and David Ackley. A brother; William Mulstay and a sister Evelyn Hanlan predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Nicholas V. and Agnes A. (Knutson) Mulstay. Mrs. Hanlan was a graduate of South High School, and had been employed as a telephone operator for Massachusetts Electric for 30 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Strawberry Hills Country Club and was an avid golfer. Mrs. Hanlan also enjoyed knitting and crochet, bowling, reading and was known as an exceptional cook. She especially loved time spent with her family.

The funeral is Monday, November 21st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at Noon in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours are Sunday, November 20th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
