Devine, Anne A. (Burke) 86, of Humarock Beach, formerly of Needham, Hull, and Englewood, FL died on Thursday November 17th at her home surrounded by her family after a long illness. Mrs. Devine was born in Stoneham, where she attended local schools. She graduated from Regis College in 1941 with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. She worked as a Social Worker in the Boston Division For the Blind. During World War II, Mrs. Devine found herself assisting with the war effort as inspector in one of many munitions plants in Rockland. Beloved wife for 54 years to the late Joseph M. Devine, they raised seven children in Needham and Humarock Beach. While in Needham, Mrs. Devine was very active in the Opportunity Shop in Needham Center for many years as well as St. Joseph’s Parish before moving to Humarock Beach. Survived by her seven children; four daughters, Ellen Suarez of Bourne, Gertrude Colburn of Needham, Mary Devine- Bentz of Dedham, Joanne Biviano of Marshfield; three sons, Michael J. of Marshfield, Christopher W. of Nashua, NH and James L. Devine of Walpole. Mrs. Devine is also survived by her sister Patricia Hayes of Marshfield and her 11 grandchildren. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Monday Nov. 21st at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 &7-9 PM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery in Needham.
