Obituary

FALL RIVER - Edward C. “Bijou” and “Eddy Quahog” Freitas, 76,of 22 Second St., Swansea, died Wednesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Pauline (Ventura) Freitas to whom he was married for 51 years. Father of Michael E. Freitas and Edward M. Freitas both of Swansea, Judy Rebello of Fall River, Paula Moniz of Berkley, MA. Brother of Arthur Freitas and Antone Freitas, Virginia Bernard, and Mary “Mamie” Andrade all of Fall River, MA. Grandfather of Joshua Tetuan of Swansea, MA, Tony Moniz, IV of Berkley, MA, Courtney Freitas of Swansea, MA, Amanda Rebello and Lindsay Rebello both of Fall River, MA. Great-grandfather of Jayden Colby Rebello of Fall River, MA. Several nieces and nephews. He was also father of the late Angela Marie Freitas and brother of the late Manuel, Joseph, Maurice, James, and William Freitas, & Dolores Correira.

Born in Fall River, MA the son of the late Manuel Freitas and the late Maria Freitas. He was a Swansea resident for 38 years. Before retiring, he was an Inspector for 35 years at Sterling Pile Co. He was a member and Past Commander of the Swansea VFW Post #2045, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, Ma. on Monday at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, MA. at 10:00 A.M. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, MA
