DUDLEY – Richard L. Walker, 81, of Joshua Place, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center after an illness. His wife of 40 years, Leona E. (Kaliszewski) Walker, died in 1989.
He leaves a son, Paul B. Walker and his wife Deborah of Oxford; a daughter, Sharon E. Dziembowski and her husband John of Dudley; a brother, Ronald Walker of Webster; a sister, Rita DiVicenzo of Putnam, CT; 5 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
He was born in Webster, a son of Leon W. and Mary (Templeman) Walker, and lived there most of his life, moving to Dudley in 1991. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Walker worked at Empire Laundry in Webster for 40 years, and then at Cranston Print Works Company in Webster for several years before retiring. He was a member of St. Louis Church in Webster.
The funeral, with military honors, will be held Monday, Nov. 21, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St., Webster. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 8:15 to 9:15 AM Monday, Nov. 21, in the funeral home.
