LOWELL: Dorothy E. (Bolton) Cathcart, age 85, a resident of Lowell for over 30 years, died Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at her home.
She was the wife of Fred F. Cathcart, who died November 15, 1990.
Born in Pelham, NH on April 14, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William J. and May B. (Hutchinson) Bolton.
Mrs. Cathcart was raised in Tewksbury.
She attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury High School in 1938.
Prior to her retirement in 1984, she was employed by the Raytheon Corporation of Lowell, where she worked as an assembler.
Mrs. Cathcart enjoyed many activities including painting, traveling and playing golf.
She is survived by one son; Fred F. Cathcart, Jr. and his wife Diane (Grady) of Lowell; four daughters; Brenda J. Baker and her husband Theodore of Poughkeepsie, NY, Eleanor L. Carrigan of Mashpee, Sandra L. Tripodi of Bourne and Jessie M. Price and her husband David of Lowell; one brother; Richard H. Bolton and his wife Rita (Cassavante) of Fullerton, CA; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mrs. Cathcart was the sister of the late Evelyn Damon, Beatrice Chapman, Mildred Shanks, Abby Olson, Olive Parkhurst, Catherine Larsen, Ruth St. Onge, Clifford, William., Bertrand, Donald and Robert Bolton.
Funeral service Friday, November 18th at 11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Interment at Edson Cemetery, Lowell. At the request of the family there are NO calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 are requested.
