Obituary

Louis F. Pitts, 83 of Winter Haven, FL died Saturday, October 29, 2005 in Lake Wales, FL. Mr. Pitts was born in Richmond, VA on July 26, 1922, a son of the late Joseph and Addy May Pitts. He was a resident of Winter Haven, FL for 24 years, formerly living in Derry, NH for 33 years. Mr. Pitts was a New Hampshire State Trooper. He was also a veteran of the US Navy, serving aboard submarines. He was a member of St. Marks Lodge in Derry, and a member of the VFW and Elks club in Florida.
He is survived by a daughter, Carollee Nagle and her husband Robert of Cheshire, CT, a son, Tommie Pitts and his wife Veronica of East Derry, NH, five grandchildren, Kelli Gustfason, Leslie Gregg, Katharine Fusco, David Aaronson and Ross Pitts, seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Jean Lewis of Ormond Beach, FL. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth Pitts in 1995 and by his brother Joseph Pitts during WWII in 1943.

Calling hours were on Saturday, December 3rd, 2005 from 2-4PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Masonic service was held Saturday at 4:00PM followed by military honors. The burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Hampshire State Police Benevolent Association, 33 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH 03305.
