J. John Luiz, 81, of Manchester, died November 14, 2005, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, after a period of declining health.
He was born in Lowell, Ma, November 24, 1923, and was a son of Manuel and Maria (Jardin) Luiz. He had been a resident of Manchester most of his life.
Mr. Luiz served in the US Army during World War II.
He worked as a sign painter for many years.
Family members include his wife of 58 years, Ruth E. (Perkins) Luiz of Manchester; three daughters, Cynthia C. Linehan of Manchester, Deborah Schroeder of Temple, TX, and Nancy Allard of Manchester; two sons, Jon A. Luiz of Manchester, and Jay W. Luiz of Providence, RI; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Luiz of Manchester; a sister, Minnie Hebert of Manchester; nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Thursday November 17, 2005 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St. Burial was in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, where a committal service, with military honors, were conducted.
