Obituary

Normand D. Desroches,55, of 62 Marshall St., died Friday, Nov. 11
at UMASS Memorial Hospital in Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 31 years, Diane T. (Slavinskas) Desroches, two sons
Justin P. Desroches of Webster and Jason M. Desroches of Worcester, two
daughters Jessica D. Desroches of Leicester and Jaime M. and her husband
Lawrence Huff of Effingham, N.H., two brothers Arthur L. Desroches of
Spencer and Philip E. Desroches of Sturbridge, a sister Marie E. Hocking of
Taunton, two grand children Hunter Jade Cooper and Mikayla Lynne Desroches,
several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Desroches was a cook at several area institutions including Diane's
Bakery,Holy Cross College, and Univ. Commons before retiring due to illness
in 2000. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and later for 8
years in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Ernest R. and Lorraine V. (Beauchamp)
Desroches.
He graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School, was a member of Post 184
American Legion in Webster, the New England Country Music Club, and once
served on the Leicester Fire Dept. for 11 years. He enjoyed hunting and
fishing.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON
FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m in St. Mary's
Church, 60 Maple St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary,Queen of the
Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 14 from 5 to 8p.m.
in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Diabetes Assoc., 330
Congress St., 5th. flr., Boston,Ma. 02210.
