Obituary

Bridgewater - Elizabeth A. (MacDonald) Sironen, 65, of Bridgewater died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Brockton Hospital surrounded by her family after surviving cancer for 10 years. She was the wife of Ronald R. Sironen for 43 years.

She was born Dec. 3, 1939, in Boston, a daughter of the late Warren P. and Mildred (Gray) MacDonald.

Raised and educated in Weymouth, Mrs. Sironen was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1957.

She had been a Bridgewater resident for 40 years.

Mrs. Sironen retired as a secretary at Bridgewater State College, having worked previously at Massasoit Community College and the M.G. Williams Middle School in Bridgewater.

She was an avid reader, sometimes completing a book in a day. Also loved to travel, having visited many places in North America and Europe with her husband. She enjoyed dining at area restaurants and crocheting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son, Laura A. Anderson of Bridgewater and Erik E. Sironen of Carver; a sister, Patricia Barbarossa of Billerica; and 7 grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Thursday at 10 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-8 pm. Burial will be in Titcut Cemetery, Middleboro.
