WEBSTER – John W. “Herbie” Hurlburt, 45, of 93 Slater St., died Thursday, Nov. 10, at home after being stricken ill.
He leaves his wife of 8 years, Deborah J. (Diani) Hurlburt; a daughter, Maria Ethier of Cherry Valley; a sister, Catherine L. Holmes and her husband Stephen E. of Albany, NY; a sister-in-law, Lori Hurlburt of Nashua, NH; a niece, Sarah Hurlburt, a nephew, Michael Hurlburt, and nephews and nieces from his wife’s family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian T. Hurlburt of Nashua, NH, in 2001.
He was born and raised in Beverly, son of the late Roger and Katherine (Belanger) Hurlburt, and moved here in 1978. He graduated from Bay Path Technical Vocational High School in Charlton in 1979. He then served in the United States Army for 6 years.
Mr. Hurlburt was a printer’s assistant at Cranston Print Works Company for several years, retiring due to illness in 2002. He enjoyed assembling models and fishing. He was a cat lover, and leaves behind his 3 cats, Winston Churchill, K.C., and Precious.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 19, at 11:00 AM in Mount Zion Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, is directing the arrangements.
