Obituary


Vincent A. Pappalardo, Sr., 75 of Derry, NH died Tuesday April 24, 2018 at his home. Vinnie was born in Lawrence, MA on May 17, 1942, a son of the late Anthony J. and Grace C. (Catanese) Pappalardo. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam Era from 1964 – 1966. Vinnie had resided in Derry since 1981, formerly living in Lawrence. He owned and operated Quality Transmission in Salem, and later in Derry for over 30 years. For the past 22 years he has been employed for the Auto Auction of NE in Londonderry.

He is survived by his wife, Petra Candeas of Derry, one son, Vincent A. Pappalardo, Jr. of Derry, two daughters, Krista Sapia of Derry, and Shana Pappalardo and her fiancé Salvatore Placenti of Methuen, MA, five grandchildren, Alexandria Sapia, Antonio Sapia, Anthony Pappalardo, Angelo Pappalardo, and Molly Pappalardo, his siblings, Freida Vitale, Anthony Pappalardo, Donald Pappalardo, Paul Pappalardo, and Michael Pappalardo. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, one cousin, and his adopted brother, George Beardsley. Vinnie adored his dogs, Trinity, Pearly Girl, and Gracie May, as well his cat Xena.

Vinnie was a huge animal lover and opened his heart and home to animals in need of fostering, by his wife. He was a hugh part of the recuse Feline Friends of Salem New Hampshire. He was also a part of the Derry pet food pantry, where his wife helped and supplied food for the Veterns and the severly disabled. Vinnie will be sorely missed.

At Vinnie’s request, there are no services scheduled at this time. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, it is the request of his wife that donations be made, in Vinnie’s name to Feline Friends of Salem New Hampshire.
