Julia M. (Polesky) Long, 94, a lifelong resident of Medway, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 24, 2018, at the Christopher House of Worcester. Julia was born on May 5, 1923, in Woonsocket, RI to John and Honorata Polesky.
In 1948, she married Martin J. Long and was a loving and devoted wife until his passing in 1990. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Long of West Warren, MA and her son, Martin Long and his wife Georgia of San Clemente, California and her granddaughters, Elizabeth McGuire of Westerly, RI and Kathryn Long of Boston. She is also survived by her sister, Jennie Schultz of Mauston, Wi and was predeceased by her sister, Stella Gray of Norfolk, VA and brother Walter Polesky of Medway.
Julia was a bright and talented woman who chose to be a wife, mother and homemaker. Her home, family, friends and relatives were her world. She had a huge heart and taught us all the meaning of unqualified love. She also had a fierce will to life and overcame many obstacles in her lifetime. She will always be remembered and loved by those who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Monday, April 30th from 11:00am – Noon, followed by a funeral service at Noon in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
