MYRA BIRKBECK
Myra Frances Packer Birkbeck, age 68, of 23 Hunters Road, Norwich, died Sunday morning at St. Christophers Health Center in Norwich surrounded by her family.
Myra was born in Stonington in 1934 the daughter of Horace and Mary Packer. A devoted housewife, she dedicated her life to her family and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
She leaves her 10 children, James Birkbeck Jr. Gary Birkbeck and Mary Emery, all of ME, Walter Birkbeck of N. Stonington, Barbara Hedberg, Cheryl Morgan, and Thomas Birkbeck, and Susanna Birkbeck all of Norwich, Margaret Oddo of Preston, Lisa Harris of Taftville; her siblings, Charles Packer of Norwich, Elizabeth Durfee of RI, and Harry Packer of Ledyard, 22 grandhildren, 17 great-grandchildren and her former husband, James T. Birkbeck. She was predeceased by her other siblings, Dorothy Knight, Mary, Robert, Thomas, florence and Horace Packer Jr.
Myra’s family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday from 6-7:45pm. A service will follow at 8pm. Burial will be on Thursday at 1pm at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic.
