Margaret "Peg" DAY, (DiBiasio) PhD., 63, died November 10th while in the hospital. She was the wife of Edward Day for 43 years, and was a resident of Chepachet for 38 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Vincenzo and Bernice (Barlow)DiBiasio.
Mrs. Day received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from RI College and her CAGS and PhD from the University of Connecticut. Her career in education spanned 33 years primarily in Cranston. She was a teacher and later elementary school principal. She was a recognized authority in the teaching of writing and co-founder of the Writing Center at RI College.
She is also survived by daughters, Kerstin Lochrie and her husband Peter of Woburn, MA, Lauren Day and her husband Mitch Schneir of North Andover, MA and Jennifer Sweeney and her husband Michael of Wakefield; 6 grandchildren Samantha, Jacob and Tucker Lochrie, Isabella Schneir and Connor and McKennie Sweeney; sisters, Jean Fleury of Malone, NY and Anne Fricker of Henderson, NV and brothers, Donn DiBiasio of Smithfield and James DiBiasio of Zellwood, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Tuesday 3-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
