CHICOPEE – Thomas J. Patrie, 77, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on New Year’s Day, January 1, 1941, a beloved son of the late Armand and Charlotte Patrie. He was raised in Aldenville, graduated from local schools in Chicopee and later lived in Millis and Greenfield before returning to Chicopee in 2000. He served his country in the United States Army and attained the rank of Specialist 4th Class. He was last employed at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds. Tom enjoyed history and classical music, had a zest for life and loved to travel with his wife, Doris. Most of all, he was a man who loved his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife, Doris J. Gagnon; his five loving step-children, Julie Judd and her husband, Paul, Catherine Zimmerman and her husband, Dr. John Zimmerman, Mary Skinner, Edward Williamson, Jr. and his wife, Elaine and James Williamson and his wife, Pam; his nine cherished grandchildren; his nine cherished great-grandchildren; his two dear brothers, James Patrie and David Patrie and his wife, Betty; his three dear sisters, Jacqueline Willimain, Janice Demers and Carol Rogalski; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Patrie, Gagnon and Williamson families. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his two dear brothers, Gerald and Robert Patrie. His Committal Service with United States Army Military Honors will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
