Manuel M. Souza, Jr., 90, of Dartmouth died November 9, 2005 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of Rebecca L. (Loring) Souza.
Born in Westport, the son of the late Manuel M. and Violet (Mello) Souza, he lived in Dartmouth most of his life.
Mr. Souza was formerly employed by Dartmouth Finishing for many years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sisters, Mary Walega and Josephine Mendes, and her husband Antone, all of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Louise Macedo, Louis Souza, Joseph Souza and Henry Souza.
His private Funeral Service was held on Thursday, November 10th in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial followed in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
