Dean Ryan Murray

PORTER - Dean Ryan Murray, age 48, passed away April 3, 2018 at Maine Medical Center after a long battle with cancer and a lifetime struggle with Cerebral Palsy. He was born in Sanford, Maine on September 16, 1969.
He is the son of Charles G. Murray and LaVerne Fox Saucier. Dean lived in Christiana, PA for 16 years with his mother and step-father, Leonard Mayberry and attended schools in
Quarryville, PA. In 1987 the family returned to Maine. Dean graduated from Sacopee Valley High School in 1989. Shortly thereafter, he moved out on his own to S. Portland and got married. Dean worked at Unum and the Maine Mall, among other places.
Dean loved to help others and volunteered for the Sacopee Valley 68 Hours of Hunger Program, the Baldwin Food Pantry and the Salvation Army, just to name a few. Although technology was his greatest interests, he enjoyed traveling, fishing, canoeing, going to casinos and watching the WWE and Food Network. He also loved animals and many more things, too numerous, to name. Dean loved being around family, most of all.
Dean lived life to the fullest. He had some wild and crazy adventures with his cousins. He had a pure love for everyone and lit up the world with his smile. His determination and strength was amazing. Dean made a huge difference in the lives of so many.
He is predeceased by his grandparents, Romanio and Alberta Saucier and C. Robert and Margaret Murray; step-father, Leonard Mayberry; and cousin, William Nickerson. He leaves behind his mother, LaVerne Saucier of Porter; his father, Charlie Murray of Limerick; a step-father, Michael Knowles; a step-mother, Luella Murray; and a step-brother, Leonard Ralph Mayberry of PA. Other surviving family members are his aunts and uncles, Louis Sr. and Laurie Saucier of Porter; Elayne Nickerson-Saucier of Madawaska Maliseet First Nation, Canada; Carol Saucier and Mike Hanson of Limington; John and Kathy Murray of Westbrook; Jane and Simon Gaza of Limerick and Doug and Anna Murray of Watertown, NY. Dean also leaves behind many beloved cousins and their families who he loved with all his heart, Jeremy and wife Jessica Manning, Tamara Manning, and Jonathan Manning; Wayne Nickerson, Mike and Sue Nickerson, David and Teri Nickerson, Louis Saucier Jr., Alison and Phillip Smith, David Murray and Robby Murray.
Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, April 13 from 5 PM – 7 PM, followed by a 7 PM service at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish.  A private burial ceremony will be held at a later date.
